Flute Recital

I’m preparing for a flute recital in September.

Here is a beautiful piece that I hope to learn some day, but it won’t be for a day in September. The composer, Ian Clarke, wrote another piece, Deep Blue, that I am learning. I love the bending of the notes.

As I listen to this piece, Orange Dawn, I am reminded of how I feel some mornings, watching the sunrise here at Darwin’s View. I have my doubts that I’ll ever be good enough to play this piece. And yet, if we put our minds to something, stay with it, against all odds, we might come close to reaching our dreams and overactive imaginings.
